Join Hands ESL is Strategic Planning this fall!

Join Hands ESL is looking to the future, as we build capacity to continue to fulfill our mission, serving the economically poor of East St. Louis, IL. One step toward this goal is Strategic Planning, a process to help define our direction and allocate resources over the next three years. We will gather information from many sources to create an image of where we are now and picture our future success. From this we will set Join Hands ESL’s long-term objectives and organization goals.

We will be speaking with groups whom we serve over the next several weeks. These include students, mothers and fathers, Ubuntu Center visitors, plus our community partners, volunteers, donors and corporate sponsors. If you are interested in participating, please contact Sheila Burton at joinhandsesl@gmail.com.

We are pleased to be assisted in this process by Linda Zazove, retired deputy director of program operations for Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation, Inc. Besides other accolades, Ms. Zazove was presented with the Joseph R. Bartylak Memorial Legal Services Award for her work with low-income and senior residents in Illinois. We look forward to her help in our Strategic Planning process.
